Course Objective

The aim of the course is to make the trainee to understand supervision skills of metal scaffold erections.
 

Learning Objectives
The objective of this training course is to enable participants to:
  • List the types of commonly used metal scaffold based on the 
  • Characteristic and classification
  • State the criteria for the selection of scaffolds 
  • Define the terminology used in scaffold as well as its components and materials for metal scaffolding 
  • State the tools, equipment and personal protective equipment used for in scaffold erection and dismantling 
  • Identify and explain the material and work platform requirement for independent tied scaffold erection 
  • Set up and erect independent tied scaffold safely 
  • Identify and explain the characteristics and material requirement for commonly used scaffolds as follows: 
  1. Frame scaffold
  2. Birdcage scaffold
  3. Tower scaffold
  4. Modular scaffold, including cup lock system scaffold
  5. Suspended scaffold
  6. Special scaffold
  • Set up, erect and dismantle commonly used scaffolds 
  • Conduct hazards identification of scaffold erection and dismantling 
  • State the requirements of ties and braces for birdcage scaffold 
  • State the requirements of WSH(Scaffolds) Regulations 
  • List the causes of scaffold incidents and the resulting learning points 
  • Describe the importance of the scaffold register for safe scaffolding activities 
  • State the essential information for the scaffold register 
  • List the types of scaffold inspection checklists 
  • State the factors affecting safety of scaffold structure 
Entry Requirements
  • The trainees should pass the Metal Scaffold Erection Course.
  • The trainees should be able to read and understand the English language.
  • Participants are required to wear their safety boots for the practical session.
Validity Of Certificate

The certificate and ID card that is issued to a successful participant for the course and assessment is valid for life long.
Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a certificate of achievement endorsed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will, will be awarded to the trainee.
