Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide course participants with the requisite knowledge & skill so that they can perform their activities properly and safely.

Introduction to Marine Metal Scaffolding
Purpose of a Scaffold
Roles and Responsibilities of a Marine Metal Scaffolder
Various types or Marine Metal Scaffolds and their uses
Definitions and Terms used in Scaffolding
Common Hand Tools, Equipment and Materials – Use and Care
Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Scaffolding Materials
Use of correct tools for tightening Couplers, Planks, Tubes and Pipes
Precautions working in confined spaces and at height
Erect and dismantle Cargo hold scaffolding for steelwork and painting / blasting

Who Should Attend

The “Erect Metal Scaffold in Marine Industry” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers who are involved in erecting and dismantling marine metal scaffolds in marine industries.

Entry Requirements

The trainees should be able to read and understand the English language. Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above.
Participants are required to wear their safety boots for the practical session.

Validity Of Certificate

The safety pass that is issued to a successful participant for the course and assessment is valid for life long.
Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a certificate of achievement endorsed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will, will be awarded to the trainee.

Theory Assessment 60 % of Marks
Practical Assessment 100 % of Marks
